[updated:LAST EDITED ON 22-Oct-02 AT 10:45 PM (EST)]I have a 1983 Ford F-250 4x4 Ex-Cab, I need to replace the manual hubs. I dont know what axle I have? Is it a Dana 44 HD, Dana 44, Dana 50 or Dana 60? The code for the certification label on the door says (23) for the code.....
I know its a IFS system but dont know the front axle type.....
Thanks,
Jeff
Your axle is either a D44HD or a D50, there is some argument over F250 4x4 Ex. cabs all being HD's, but, I know of a few that aren't.
Anyway, If you have a full floating rear axle, you likley have a D50 up front, if not, you have a D44HD, also, you can tell by the size of the hubs, if they look to be the same as a half ton's, it's a D44HD, if they look quite a bit larger, more what you'd expect to find on a one ton, it's a D50. I haven't been able to compare mine with a a LD F250 4x4, but, my truck has 1-1/16" lug nuts, and, I think the LD run something around 15/16", or maybe even 13/16" like a half ton.

I had the codes ran at my work and they were abel to find out is that you 3.54 gears. My guess is that you have Dana 44s. I have a 1980 F-250 4x4 with a 300-6, with Dana 44 ifs and Dana 60 with a semi float.

IIRC, the D44 TTB was only offered with coil springs.
