My 67 f250 4x4 has a dana 446C front closed knuckle axle. I haven't started work on the front end yet, but when I research parts for the truck it either specifies a 3000lb front dana 44 or a 3500lb dana 44 for that year. How do I know which one I have? If it means anything, the rear dana 60 has the 12 x 2 1/2" HD bendix brakes... Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

44-6CF, 3000LB axle will have 8 bolts on the backside of the knuckle.

44-6CF-HD, 3550LB axle will have 12 bolts on the backside of the knuckle.

 

The big aluminum locking hubs are much larger and sticks out way pass the tire & wheel.
Great for a rock to knock it off...
