What does it mean when you hear that clicking b4 starting? Also there was a topic somewhere on here about a temp sensor that sends a message to the gpr on how long to stay on, where is this located?
When you hear the clicking or see the WTS light go out it's time to turn the key to start the vehicle........
On the solid state GP system there is no actual engine/coolant temperature sensor like the 6.9 ...what happens is the SS controller senses the resistance increase from the GPs as they warm up in the precup and then reacts accordingly. Cycling maintains a heat presence in the precup without overheating the GPs.
I have to admit I'm getting confused as this started out with a 7.3 engine problem now were on to 6.9 problems, 2 different systems so my info will not jive on both systems.
Please put some truck info in your signatures so we can see what year were answering to.............It's also protocoll not to hijack some one elses thread.
