new problem for me. 93 3.0 sport Got in it this evening when I started it up it emitted 5 sets of 5 beeps. Of course I have no reference material to any codes that might apply. Will be very grateful for any help. The oil level and tranny fluid are fine. all fluids are at the proper level.
This is an airbag trouble code. I am having the same problem. Check your number 2 fuse, I was told this is one possible cause of this problem. Unfortunatly it was not the cause of my problem.
Sorry for the delay in replying, Had to go out of town and had no internet access.
Tim,Thank you for the welcome. I read the guidelines before or or right after registering and understand and agree with them.
Hawk, The 5 sets of 5 beeps is an airbag code that ouccurs when the airbag light AND at least one other problem exists with the airbag system. My problem was the airbag light bulb was blown and the passenger airbag deactivation switch was bad.
Switch price was $89.65
cost to scan to determine problem was $70.00
cost for dealer to install switch was 160.00
I could have replaced switch myself, But would have had to take the truck back to dealer and pay another $70.00 to get codes cleared. So with the time and fuel I would would have wasted on taking off another day from work it was worth the $90.00 to me to let the dealer go ahead and finish the job.
and the passenger airbag deactivation switch was bad.

This Couldn't have been an aerostar, as far as I know an aerostar was never made with a passenger side airbag, they only had driver airbags. If you have one with driver and passenger airbags I would really like to see it
