Hi and welcome to the forum 
Other than checking the fuse in the fuse box under the dash and checking for power at the white/light blue wire to the compass I don't have any other easy suggestions.
Anyone else here had the same problem?

the fuses have been cheacked.for a while i was able to get it going
by pressing really hard on the button sometimes it would come on then
fade away but with persistence would eventualll work until I turned the
truck off,then I would have to go thru it alll again next time.
