Vibration dampener
A friend of mine gave me a new aftermarket dampener/ balancer for the crank. I have a 65 289 and it still has the original. The rubber is starting to get bad and could use replacing. The new one is nice and has the degrees all the way around and is visible while the engine is running. It is suppose to be a replacement for the one on my truck, however looking at it, it's much wider (actually looks like the hipo 289 dampener) It's suppose to the be the same oz's as mine (don't recall the oz's, I think 20 oz). Should I put this balancer on, and will this alter with my pulley alignment? I hate to go through all the work of removing my old one and this one won't work. Anyone replace their 302 etc with one of these aftermarket type dampeners?
