the balancing act
First of all, is the 351W internally balanced or is it the other? I assume it is external. If so what is the stock weight of a 78 model? Can any year 351 balancer work for my application? My dampener has the rubber falling out of it and I don't want to spend more than $75 for a new one. Can anyone help me find one??? Or help me find a suitable replacement??

It is externally balanced. I would stick with a 70's 351w, and visually look at the replacement to make sure it looks the same and the timing marks are the same relative to the keyway in the bore of the damper.
