pick up a steering dampener in the morning for my truck, i got the biggest one before the return to centre dampener, it also has 10 adjustments on a dial. i dont go off road heaps but thought it might help soaking up harsh jolts when driving contry roads that i do alot. does any one else have one fitted to there truck with the dampening adjustment and what number do you run it on. mine is between 1-10. 10 being the stiffest i was told.
well i have it installed and wow, i have taken it for a few runs and settled with the adjustment at 3. it is great the wheel doesnt jump around when hitting big bumps and holds straight easier when camber in the road changes.. should have done it earlier...
IS your truck a 2 wheel drive? I for one would like info as to the brand and may be even the part number that you used please-I had cheap steering dampeners on my old '78-'78 FSeries trucks and they made the world of difference-they just had brackets that clamped on.....thanks for sharing!
I too am interested in the brand and part number. I have replaced all parts on my front end, had it aligned and it still not right. Feels it wonders a little and I have an original ford steering damper. Maybe it the steering box..... I have a 4x2
mines a 4x4 guys. the shock is a tough dog adjustible 45mm i think. havint got the box or truck here to have a look. one end has clamps but the other has a normal shock mount/ring that bolts to a spot on the diff.
