Coming back from the last day of deer camp Sunday in my special assignment 84 Ford pulling my low boy trailer I felt what might be a flat tire (at 65mph), as I pulled over I was convinced I had a flat tire until I heard the engine and that heart sinking metal to metal grinding sound....stopped in a parking lot and killed the switch. I thought the harmonic balancer might be bad, my son thought I had thrown a rod. This 351 HO had been rebuilt at 175,000 (bought this truck new) and now has 204,000 so I was disappointed in that suggestion. Anyway, pulled driveshaft, transferred low boy trailer to my 99 Expedition (wife was with us), and son towed me back with tow strap with his 2004 F150 (awesome truck) where we took the beast to my mechanic. He called me yesterday to say he replaced the harmonic balancer. hehe
