I can't tell you about your engine, but I have an 82 F-250 w/ a 351W and I found somewhere that it was rated at 278 lb/ft of torque @ 1800 rpm's and 139 horsepower @ 3600 rpm's. I would say it was accurate as my 3500 lb Oldsmobile with 136 horsepower could kick my trucks butt in a race.
i thought 302's were rated higher for ponies than that??? srercrcr...would the 300-6 change much from 83 to 84, for ponies and torque?? mine's an 84, i don't know if u have the specs for it, but approx. where did it run?? i'm just curious....thanks
i would think that it is, but i also know that my truck has a lot more emissions stuff than my buddy's 83 f-250 4x4, so i wonder if that emissions stuff wouldn't drop my numbers?? just a thought...although my truck is working its way away from the emissions stuff and back to a more simple time and workability....no extra electric stuff, no feedback carb, no egr....etc...if you have them, what are the numbers for an 83 300-6?? that would at least give me a rough idea where my truck "should" be...thanks...
thanks, 84-250....appreciate it....i've got some plans for my engine to bump those numbers up a bit...bigger cam, deck the block, mill the head, bore the cyl's a bit, offy intake, holley 390 4bbl carb, efi split exhaust manifolds, true dual exhaust into either twin glasspacks or a pair of 40 series flows, mild port and polish on the head....it'll take some time and work, but she'll eventually run like a champ...
