Well I went out again and there appears to be a little metal part stopping it from moving. here are some pics i took:

The pics are at the bottom and some on the second page. maybe if I get that metal part out it would work?
I dunno!!

I`ll snap a couple close up`s of mine later and post them .

It doesn't look like tilt to me.

I have Flowtech headers running into custom 2 1/2 duals with twin original 40 flows (2 chamber) that dump in front of the passenger rear wheel in twin 4x22 inch tips.
It's decent inside (you can talk to the person your riding with) But outside it raises hell!!!
I looked at mine real close and it appears different than yours . Does that metal piece look jambed in there or does it look factory ? If it looks like it`s suppose to be there then I`ll assume it aint tilt
I do however have a new SIG . Thought it fitting for the HolidayZ

I have a 1980 f150. And it has tilt. I drove around for about 2 years before a guy told me I had tilt. He was standing there talking to me while I was in the driver's seat, and said "This thing has tilt wheel". I said no way. He reaches in and starts pushing down on my turn signal lever. I thought to myself if he breaks the lever off, I am not going to be happy. But to my amazment, the steering wheel started moving up and down! I asked him how he knew it had tilt, and he said it was because the way the hole in the column was shaped. It's shaped like the picture above.

You just have the pull vents in the kick panels, right? How about posting a pic of the VIN sticker from the door jamb?Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts

First comment , NICE interior man ! Looks like you keep it in great shape . Second , I`m jealous of those wood grain inserts on your doors . I have the same wood grain on the dash and by the radio but not on the doors . Third , I see what is missing on MY dash now , the XLT emblem above the radio , there is a dab of glue there and wasnt sure what was suppose to be there . Wanna donate yours to the XJeepguy XLT emblem drive
Sorry about not having tilt but you sure have a nice truck there anyways . Take care !

I'm new to the board. I've had my 84 F150 for a little over a year now, and I just discovered this week that I had tilt, only I found out the hard way.
My brake booster has a vacuum leak. I was pulling in the driveway, I hit the brakes, and they didn't work. By instinct, I started hitting the pedal harder, using the steering wheel for leverage, then POP! BAM!, my steering wheel dropped to a lower "tilt" position, right before I slammed into the house.
After I told my mechanic I didn't have tilt, he said "Oh yes you do! Just push the blinker forward". Well I couldn't believe it, he was right!
Now my problem is, after I tilted the wheel with brute force, I can be going down the road and the position will change, without hitting the release. Evidently I broke something. The problem is, I have no idea where to get the part. Do any of you guys have an idea what I would be looking for, and where to find it?
Sorry for the novel, I'm usually not so wordy. :-)
Thanks for any help.
Rick
