According to the diesel shop where I bought my X-monitor and my Superchip tuner, they think that the Edge is the best powerwise, Superchips is second best powerwise and best for the tranny, then Banks.

They sell all of them there. They said that Banks makes great stuff and has always been good great, but they felt that the Banks system for the 6.0L was a bit of a let down. They said honestly that for the 6.0L they thought the Banks was a waste of money, especially the intercooler.

They also said that for a auto. get the Superchips tuner, or if you had the money get the Edge Juice w/ attitude and a Superchips tune for the tranny would be the best.

We (the people I know) have used this particular diesel shop for 20 years, and they stand behind there products and the products they sell.

All in all they said it is really a matter of what you want to buy and spend the money on.

Are you saying to use the 1704 super chips to tune your tranny in tow safe and use the edge on top of that. I have a edge with attitude on a 03 6.0 automatic and tow a wedge trailer. The shifts are sloppy and erratice with the edge and I just ordered a 1704 superchips, if I can stack them that would be cool.

I'm Currently Running A Predator..previously Ran A Scmt1704, Loved The Power , But The Shifts Were A Bit Harsh. I'm Considering An Edge Juice W/attitude Monitor For The Convienence Of The Adjustable Programs And The Egt And Boost Gauges, And The Ability T Back Down If Temps Get To High. Was Wanting To Stack It With The Predator On Factory Hp Tune, Which Does Tune The Tranny..also Remove The Speed Limiter. What Do U Guys Think?..thanks

Thats what I am debating but maybe using the 1704. Too bad you cant ditch the defueling between shifts on the Edge.

You referred to harsh shifts on the 1704 when you ran it, were they firm or just harsh as in slipping or shuddering?

Though I do drive mine daily, I am more than willing to sacrifice comfort for performance.

THE SHIFTING WAS VERY FIRM..ALMOST BANGED INTO GEAR, BUT THE PERFORMANCE ON THE MIDDLE SETTING WAS INCREDIBLE

I missed typed my thread I meant to say a SCT custom tune for tranny, with the EDGE Juice/Attitude for the power.

I love my SC1704, I have it in HP mode and the shifts are great very, very firm no slipping. I shift mine into second at 4000-4100rpm it it will bark the tires (315/75/16's). I have also gained about 3 mpg on the highway in the high-performance mode.

I haven't tried the economy or towing settings yet, I pulled my gooseneck empty with the HP tune and did not see too high of an EGT. The gooseneck should get loaded the weekend though and I will see, if it does get too high I will load a different tune into it.

OAISIS ID#216 453 891 TSB#04-14-12 replace the fan belt.
I also stated to them it sounded more like an idler pulley that was bad, sure enough it was and they replaced that at the same time. Hope this solves your problem.

Great Big P??..u Can Stack The Diable Predator With You Edge. Use The Factory H.p. Setting. It Will Tune Your Tranny Only. Sct= Superchips Custom Tuning. I Have An Sct On Order Right Now, Not Sure But I Think It Has A Tranny Only Tune As Well. My Understanding Is That The Scmt Will Not Tune The Tranny Only, Someone Correct Me If I'm Wrong

I Got Juice and More!

Well guys thanks for all the input. I got my Edge Juice Module with Attitude, a full 4" Stainless Turbo Back MagnaFlow exhaust and an AFE intake system. My truck is FAST! I have noticed poor shifting in modes 4 and 5, though it is fast. I raced some little Acura today and man did I suprise the guy, he ate lots of black smoke. Thanks for all the help. Im taking my truck to the dealership today for a few small things but nothing major to report.

Pat

i have an SCT custom chip on order my self, I asked for a tune to stack on top of the edge juice/attitude to help the tranny shift in the higher settings. The dealer i ordered mine from told me they could custom tune the sct chip to give me the same HP and Torque numbers(even more if i wanted them to) the edge offers on top of reprogramming the tranny for better shifts. He also told me i could return the edge juice because after i run the highest setting on that SCT chip i wont even want to use the edge any more... well this sucks! because i have them both on order right now from 2 different places and the edge should be here tomorrow dang im starting to feel like i spent $809 to many.... i hope the stack tune is worth it.
