'99 F-350 V-10. The other night, I went to my truck , hit the unlock button on the keyless remote, and nothing happened! No lights came on, doors did not unlock. This ever happen to anyone? And what could cause it?
Also, the key would not turn in the doors!! Could not get in my truck! (Yes, it was my truck.) After minutes of cussing and trying to turn the key in the door, I finally got in the driver's door (key turned.) UNEXPLAINABLE!
HELP!!!
This has happened maybe 2 or 3 times. I've had the truck about a year and a half.
The only connection between the keyless entry and the door lock cylinders is the power door lock actuators. If the actuators are being commanded to lock the doors at the same time you are trying to turn the key to unlock them, this could happen. However, the command should only be momentary, like for 1 second. It is possible that your Vehicle Security Module is hanging up and causing both problems. The VSM recieves the signal from your transmitter, decodes it and sends the command to lock or unlock the doors.
I really don't know, but it might be an easy fix. I would also try reprogramming the remotes--Do you know how to do that ??? If not, the directions are usually in your owners manual. If you don't have the manual, let me know by posting again.
