No battery no get in. Battery, you need the right code to open. Besides, all safes are just deterrents for the less than motivated criminal. If they want in, they will get in. There were some meth freaks in Snohomish county that were using chop saws to cut them open. E locks will do what they are designed to do, delay the break in effort. In the end, it is a matter of convenience for you to use it and how long of a delay in the break in you want. I suppose you could build a safe with 2" thick walls, and some super long code to get in, but in the end is it convenient to use? For most people a KNAAK tool chest is all you need, plus it's discrete.

Problem solved.. Thank you guys for your input, I now have it open. The last obstacle was my fault - my dyslexia turned the last number round.. grrrrrrrr. I had totally forgotten the turning though, but now I have burned it into my head 4321..... great.

I feel a lot happier having a *heavy steel fire safe protecting my weapons. All I have to do now, is clean all the storage grime of my rifles... what fun.

My next problem is drilling the four ½" holes for the expanding bolts..... A quick lesson on concrete drilling is in order.

Go to Home Depot or a rental yard and rent a hammer drill. Buy a quality bit. Check their selection of anchors and match the bit to the anchor. The chrome plated bits don't last any time at all.
