Ok, I was just looking at the new JC Whiteny catalog and I saw these overhead storage shelves for pickups. My 86 dosn't have much room and this simple plain one seems fit for me. Anybody ever use one? Hear anything about them? Good pic of one installed? (gotta love their drawings of what it looks like!) Sounds like a good idea but I know you have to watch the quality on things from JCW sometimes. TIA!
I think it said they were made by iron horse. Thanks for the comment. With a bench seat and standard cab I'd like to pick up space any way I can. Some JCW stuff is good, but you just have to watch out sometimes, same as everywhere else I guess.
I'm about 5'8", so it probably wouldn't bother me as much. Besides, what do you have to look at up there anyway Does it interfere with the mirror or visors at all?
Do any of those shelfs come with new visors? I took my visors out because they wouldnt stay up and kept swinging past my head when i turned lol. So I need new ones but I want to get a shelf as well.
The shelf I have relocates your existing visors, so if you need new ones, you still will, but you can get the later ones with a center support so they don't wear out as quickly.
This thing was so low for me that I couldn't see the top of the windshield & it really seemed to obscure too much of my previous field of veiw. It's only spaced about 1 1/2" down at each end, so it's not like it's halfway down, but it's just too low for me.
well i cant finger out how to insert a pic so ill just link ya to a site where you can see what the shelf looks like installed...you have to scroll about 1/2 way down the page,it is listed as "the shelf"
