On my 2000 F-250SD, the factory overhead console does not work. This is the one with the storage cubby, and a small screen. One of the buttons is marked mode, forget what the other is. Is there a common problem with these? Or should I just replace it? I have no display, and no lighting to the switches. The fuse is good.
thanks
If you go to overhead-consoles .com they have the full consoles as well as all of the parts( in various colors) for replacement for the f 250. Hope this helps
My used 2004 F250 doesn't have the overhead console. What functions do they provide? Can the factory units be installed without too much trouble, and are additonal electronic modules needed?

It is common for the heat of the roof to melt the solder a bit and cause one or more resister packs to loosen and then hang down causing the display to not work.
Pretty easy repair if you are handy with a small soldering tool.
There is also a mod, to make the display always brite, even with lights on
