"and to think I was going to ask someone to explain the combustion phase "
There are four strokes in an internal Combustion Engine.
1.Intake stroke -fuel is let in through the opening of the valve(piston travels down)
2.Compression stroke - Fuel is compressed(piston travels up)
3.Combustion stroke - Spark plug ingnited, forcing the piston down, thus power
4.Exhaust stroke -Piston travels up pushing exhuast through exhuast valve
Learned that in Automotive Technology 2. But then again, I'm not certified by Ford...Cameron
now can anyone here explain how the hood squirters operate?
and why do some cars have the winshield fluid resevoir right next to the coolant overflow tank? that's just a recipe for disaster.
well, on the combustion stroke, the camshaft actuates these little lifters that push pushrods that work little pumps that connect to the winshield fluid resevoir, that causes them to squirt that wiper fluid/coolant onto the winshield
(and thanks for lettin me know, my roomate and i have an ongoing debate on how an open differential works...)
ahh yes..Putting either one in the wrong place. Why not fire anti-freeze onto the window and run super tech washer fluid through the Block. It could use the clean. Squirters--The operater pushes down a button, that closes a circuit to an electrical motor. The motor forces the liquid through the squirter and the pressure is high enough to push the fluid to the window.

Operator:A collection of sub-molecular atoms, cells, muscle, bones, liquids, and organs that preforms a certian task. An operator is also known as the monotone voice that answers the phone when 0 is pushed. Note: Winsheild wiper Fluid squirter's will not go off by dailing 0 on the phone. They will only go off when pressure is applyed to the fluid release button by a person.
You got me on this one, but there are more than a few times in your few posts you've been corrected. You didn't even know what a friggin' equal length header was. Gears are a bit more complicated and seeing how I've NEVER worked at any mechanic shop, I know enough. You are the Ford Master Tech remember? It's about time you got something right.
Actually, it was the "unequal length header" that I had never heard of. You don't hear that one often. Come to think of it, I never have except on THIS message board. It's just a header. And I hope you like your 4.10 gears when your doing 70 mph and turning 3000 rpm's! lol

It's actually more like 2600 RPM's. Actually it isn't bad at all. I absolutely love it all the way around! I sure would love to race you...man what a slaughter that would be! lol Then I'd love to see who could tow the most...again, another slaughter. Let's see what else could I think of? Right now I'm at half a tank of gas, and I've gone 200 miles...which means I'll be getting around 15 to 16 mpg's WITH the gears.
low, you're actually not too great at getting under my skin, but you are half descent at reminding me how much I love the decision of getting the gears was. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Keep in mind dipstick, I also have a 2001 Accord that is my more daily driver...yea, didn't see that one coming did you?
Unequal length was it? Sorry, I must have forgetten seeing as how it's such a shamful thing to confuse. It's crazy, you have one good point, and then you try and milk it for all it's worth...what a noob.

it's not like "unequal length header" is some new phrase that we're trying to start on this forum. Someone just mentioned it once, only once, to decipher it from an "equal length header". You make it seem like we say stupid, over obvious things here, like "round hub extension" instead of "wheel" or "exhaust exit tube" for "tailpipe"
But at least you ended your statement with some odd spitefull devious wish towards joe....
<devil's voice> enjoy your gears.....gas burner!!!......muhuahahahahah!!!!!</devil's voice>
Oh come on Guys, were is the love toward fellow man! Leave the bickering for the politicians, they are exceptnally good at it. I been in two years of Automotive Technology, and know a reasonalble amount about cars and good knowledge about the tearing and building, repairing of an engine. Yet I too, like true4.2 thought thought the same about gears(not something common sense can help you with), but I learned something new. I do know what unequal length headers are though, that's common sense to me...unequal .
gas burner gas guzzler whatever.
i hope you enjoy you're low-end torque........muahahahahahha.....
or
have fun accelerating quicker....ah...ah....ahahahahhahha
