For ya'll out there with external fuel tanks in the beds of your truck I have a question. Where did you buy your electric transfer fuel pump?? For howmuch $$$??? And finally do ya know a good place to buy a used one?? I am looking for a 12v 10-20 gpm. Thanks for any info.
20 gpm is a huge flow! (plus will need a 5/8" or large hose to accomodate it) If you are looking for a pump to transfer from your Aux to main tank, you will find 40 gph more common. If that is the case, try summit racing. You can get them in the 100-140 gph range but will pay 3x the price of the stnd pumps.

I really apprecitiate your help but I could not find a 40gph pump on the summit racing website. And yes I am looking to pump the fuel from an auxillary tank in the bed to the main tank of my truck and one other truck. Thanks again for the help.
I see by the post that there are two thoughts to your question and I'm not sure what you are looking for.
I posted a link to Summit Racing (www.summitracing.com) that sell basic and High Performance electric fuel pumps that one could permantly install to transfer the fuel from an Aux to Main. They are just one source, but I bet even your local autoparts store would carry a simple 12v inline pump. Anyway, typically these setups involve a 3/8" fuel line to tie the aux to pump to main. Then one can operate the pump with a simple on/off switch mounted in the cab area. This system could be set for operating manually as you are running down the road, or it can be tied into some of the electronic control units that will do it based on Main Tank level. Anyway this is not quick (40 - 140 gal per hour) but is sufficient to do the job at hand and works great. I have one that kicks in automatically when the main tanks hits 1/3 full and pumps fuel into the main from the aux until the main tank guage reads 3/4 full. Repeats until the Aux is empty. Costs will run $80 to $300 depending on how fast one wants to pump.
Now the other folks here have posted links to manual fuel transfer units that one would use to pump from the Aux tank to either your main or even another vehicle, ect., just as you would perform it at a gas station. Otherwords using a nozzle and hose setup. This is fast as it will do 15-20 gal per MIN but it is not automatic or simple (like flipping a switch on the dash). It also means having the unit mounted on top of your tank. This takes up a lot of space, especially if filling your main tank is your only use for it. Costs will run $200 and up.

How do you get your aux fuel pump to come on automatically when the main tank hits 1/3? I use a Holly electric pump and control it from inside of the truck with a switch, automatic sure would be nice. I also have a seperate fuel gauge for the aux tank so I know when the tank is low.
aurora_1 thanks for your help. To answer your question I am setting up a tank with a manual fill. I will be used to fill my main tank and the main tank of another truck. I have been searching all kinds of website and stores and have found many different pump usually ranging from $180-$400. I like your settup for filling your main tank while cruising down the road. Alot cheaper and you don't even have to stop. But I want to fill 2 different vehicles. Thanks again. And if anyone knows where to buy used or remanufactured pumps let me know please.
Sometimes at either a Tractor Supply (TSC) or Atwoods they carry reman pumps. I have purchased 3-4 new and used pumps with any problems. Most have been Fill-Rite, either 12 or 15 gpm units.
Personally, along with my transfer pump on top, my setup has a gravity flow into my main tank using a t connection via the overflow hose. The tank has a shut off valve if you want to run offroad fuel in the tank to fill equipment.
