First: I put it on TDC, pulled the distributor and mad sure the rotor was pointed to # 1 plug, put the cap back on, rearranged all the plug wires. The # 1 plug wire is now back by # 8 plug, like its 180 out,da.....strated now and runs great,
go figure........
Glad you fixed it. Just wanted to chime in and help you a bit with some terminology.
ECM stands for Engine Control Module or Electronic Control Module, and is usually used in reference to the computer "brain" that controls fuel delivery, timing, and other factors on injected engines. If you have a points-type ignition system then you don't have an ECM. Points were phased out in favor of solid-state magnetic pickups a decade before computerized engine controls were becoming common.
