no it is not a rust bucket. the passenger side rear wheelwell is the only rust and it is not bad.
the person who owned it before did not know how to fix anything.
when people see this truck they are amazed i got it for so little.
no, it was not perfect but it seems like you are attacking my truck so i will describe it better for you.
it needed an oil pickup, and i replaced pump at same time. no rust on the pan. it needed one power steering hose, and i replaced both. a rear shackle was cracked and i replaced it. fuel filter was leaking and i replaced that. i changed the auto trans fluid and filter. it is a 94 f150 xl 8 ft. bed. it has a bedliner, no dents, air works, seat not torn. the week after i fixed screen i drove it to michigan. the bottom has no rust. it had new tires 4 months before i bought it. the guys wife just wanted it gone. it has 128k on it now.
so do not jump to conclusions about my truck.
have a good holiday season. and i do hope you get the truck you want for a decent price.
See, you got lucky for your vehicle. =)
So dont say i'm spending way to much.
Rare things happen.
I can buy 200 dollar fords here all day, after about 5 or 6 of them i'll ahve enough parts for a decent one.
What i do want is my truck back, thats the problem. =\
it leaves tommarow on flat bed. Atleast friends are takeing it. So i can see it till it is in pieces. hahahaha. I cry some more tonight.
I dont think i'm going to bother with this ford right nwo. Just try and save my money till i can afford a truck without haveing to take out a loan, There was a 500 dollar one by me a few weeks ago, but i didnt' have 500. Its gone now. Sat there for 2 or 3 months.
I bought a 92 F150 4x4 with 140,000 miles onit 2 months ago from my brother. Paid $1500 and have spent another $6-700 on it since. $500 on tires and the rest tuning it up and a water pump. My brother's an electrician and the truck is at that age where things are wearing out and my brother doesn't have time to deal with them. Truck runs good, leaks a little oil from the pan and main seal. The NADA says the truck is worth around $3500. When I tell folks what I paid they say wow! It'll be the same for talyn if the truck isn't burning oil. That truck will be more than a $900 truck.
It all depends where you're at. When I lived in south western OH, if you paid more than a couple grand for a 10 yr old truck, it was either really nice or you got ripped. Here in WV, if it doesn't have any serious problems, you can't stick your hand through the body, and it's 4wd it's 3K or so; you almost can't sell a 2wd around here. Personally, when I buy a vehicle I don't even look at the NADA price. I decide what it's worth to me in good shape, figure out what it will take to get it there, and decide what I'll give for it based on that.
