4inch cowl hood scoop

has any one ever put a hood scoop on these trucks before. i think the 4 inch cowl hardwood scoop would look bad a$$. the little ridge even looks like the one it comes on the stock hood. heres the one im looking at http://shop.eharwood.com/cgi-bin/harwood/1107.html

let me know what you think and post some pictures of these trucks with scoops.

thanks for any an all input

I've got a 5". It's not Harwood brand but the exact same style. The center ridge looks exactly like the stock ridge. A little fiberglass work and it all blends perfectly. It's in for paint right now, hoping to have it back the end of the month:

I paid $70 for the scoop from a guy called "Mr. Goodglass". He's a private small business, does awesome work. If you want I can see about finding the e-mail address. It cost about $30 to ship. I don't have a pic from the top right now. I'd be happy to get one once I get the hood back though. Could be another 2 weeks.

I'll tell ya, don't settle for anything less than 4" or you'll kick yourself later. A buddy of mine bought a 2.5" scoop and has is on his hood. Functionally it's alright but it doesn't look near as good as the 4-6" scoops. Unlimited Products makes fiberglass hoods with build in scoops too, right around $500 . . . all the way up to 9". I think you'd have a hard time seeing with more than 6" though.

Hmmmmm,
Lets see, $450 for the hood,$125 for shipping, $400 in body work to make it presentable(thanks to unlimited products lack of attention to detail.) Another $150 in paint and primer, $60 in stone guard for the inner side to cover up the shotty work from U.P. . I guess someone is willing to spend $1185 to have a hood with a 4" cowl induction.

I've got $100 into the scoop (with shipping) and $30 into the hood. I spent about another $30 on fiberglass junk to blend it and the finishing work and paint will cost me another $150 through a friend who does bodywork. The best way to do these once they're glassed in is to use Bondo from the scoop out to the ridge to give it a totally smooth appearance with no seams. So I've got about $300 into it by the time it's finished, not counting my own time and work.

Btw, if you can do the finishing work yourself you can take about $100 off that. I don't have the eye for detail or the patience. I just did the rough blend and left the rest to someone who wouldn't smash the whole hood with a 4lb hammer then they got pizzled.
