windshield washer pump quit...
has anyone replaced their windshield washer pump on a 99 explorer? my wife's quit, and neither pep boys or auto zone carry a replacement. that seems strange to me. is it because it isn't replaceable????

That's odd. Maybe they've changed on later models, but I know all the pump's used to be basically the same. You'd get a fairly universal replacement that consisted of a motor and impeller that slide into the washer tank and lock in with a snap ring. But, then again it's been quite a few years since I've replaced a washer pump. I don't have a 2nd gen to look at for reference.

na, this one is a "swiss" made piece that quite frankly, looks like it's from a german car, rather than an ex. anyhow, took the pump out, it's fine. i found the relay (in a box on the frame rail) was bad. thanks to all that replied!
