I'd imagine its the same as a 96' F-150, though I may be wrong.
You'll need to remove the coolant overflow/washer fluid resovior. There is a wire connector underneath or just off to the side for the pump itself. Disconnect that. Drain the coolant from the overflow. Unbolt the resovior, remove both the coolant hose and the washer fluid hose, and remove from engine bay.
There is a thin ring that slides in one way but fights coming back out that holds the pump in place. This is located on the bottom of the plastic tank/resovior. I used a flat blade screwdriver to bend that ring then pulled it out with a needle nose pliers. Now the pump simply slides out. A new pump will include a new retainer ring. Installation is the reverse of these steps. Add fluids and enjoy the visibility.
