If the three pronged plastic do-hickey that holds the button on gets one of the prongs broken the horn will sound continuously. The plastic retainer plate is available from a lot of the forum sponsers. For once it isn't too expensive. Just looked it up and it is $3.95.

If fixing the ring does not do it...it is probably the brass contact under steering wheel that is faulty and that is why horn does not work. OR, it could be the relay out next to battery. Couple possiblities, just need to work thru and find it.

I agree with Freight train. There are a number of places that the horn can go wrong. It is worth while to work thru the system one step at a time until you find the problem and fix it. I put up with no horn for several years and am glad that I finally settled down and fixed it.

If you want to find out if it is the steering wheel, get under the dash and find the blue/yellow tracer wire that is included with turn signal wiring coming out of the column under the dash on left side. Unplug the large plug and get a small wire to touch to contact inside plug and touch to a good ground. The horn should sound, or maybe at least the relay should click. If nothing, then get under the hood and check there.

If the plug does sound horn, then it's the steering wheel contact. Very common that it wears out and falls apart. Need to pull the wheel and replace. You will need to fix your mounting tag problem no matter what. If you don't, the horn ring will hang and make contact and sound horn constantly.

Just some insight.
