Master Kill/Cutoff Switch

I have had my truck "broke" into several times, but nothing was taken. I am smart enough to remove all the valuables, and have been lucky enough for people to get scared away. However, I don't want my baby stolen. Its a 1995, 300 six, with a 5spd tranny. How can I put in a kill switch so that even if they break in they can't hot wire it or roll start it? Would the following switch work, if it was inline on the hot battery terminal?

Your URL just brings up the JCW main page. So I will guess at what you are looking at is a battery cutoff switch. There are two types of battery cutoff switches. One with a bypass fuse and one without. You need the one with the bypass fuse so the computer will not loose it memory. Only problem, if you forget and try and start the truck without closing the switch you will blow the fuse on yourself.

A battery shut-off switch will be pretty obvious won't it? I think you need to get down deep in the harness somewhere(possibly to the coil +) and put a switch inline to kill the ignition. That way it will crank, but not start, and it will take too much time to figure out what's wrong. You could also cut power to the fuel system circuit.

I was thinking the switch that I tried to post, because it is a keyed switch, so I can take the key with me. And I would make sure that it was up underneath the dash where only I would know to look.

Get the JCWhitney part number and post it. Then we can plug that into the search box and find the switch you are looking at.
