Odometer, Dome Light, Speedometer, Radios dont work...
Yesterday night when i opened my door to my 1993 F-150 i noticed my dome light was not on. As soon as i started my truck the odometer was not giving me a reading, as well as my speedometer. Also my 12-disc changer did not come on as well as my clock was not giving me time. I thought since it was winter it would thaw out in my garage or atleast the ice would fall off while i was driving. No, everything still doesnt work, but i do have illumination. If any of you have had this problem, could you let me know. And if not i'll post the way to fix it as soon as i do get it fixed. Thanks
Yah weird thing is I had that same fuse blow on me to just yesterday actually, probably grounded a wire when I was reprogramming the speedo somehow I bet....
There is one fuse for everything you mentioned there. If you read the fuse panel, or owners manual breakdown of systems for each fuse you will see a common fuse for everything that is dead. There is another symptom, maybe you had it, but didn't mention...did you run the truck and notice that it ran poorly, sluggish or shifted poorly???
If you bump the outside metal skin on the roof of the cab, over or near the dome lite, a wire shorts to chassis and pops a 15A fuse in the panel. It had happened to me many times, then I bought a headache rack, to keep ladders canoes and other stuff from banging the thin metal over my head.
