Power Seat Broken
When I accelerate or decelerate my seats "give" a little.
Sort of rock back or forth. Is this normal?
My mechanic, not a Ford dealership mechanic, says no way.
Think I should take this in for a warranty repair?
And while Im on that idea - if I have a warranty repair, am I obligated to take
it to the dealership where I bought it?
You are not obligated to take your truck to the dealership where you purchased it for a warranty repair. Any Ford dealership will do the repair.
I always take mine to the dealerhsip where I bought my truck just because I was there countless hours haggling on the price of the truck, so all the sales reps know me on a first name basis when I walk in. If I have a problem with the truck, the sales manager always makes sure that the service department is taking care of me.
For example, I took my truck in for some warrany work last winter. I knew it wouldn't take long for them to do the repair, just a couple hours, so I waited. As I was waiting, I walked into the showroom to look at what vehicles they had sitting in there. The sales manager saw me and asked what I was there for. I told him what was being done. He said that if I wanted to go grab a bite to eat or do some shopping while I was waiting, I could take his truck. I didn't, but it was a very nice gesture on his part.
I guess what I'm saying is that the sales reps at the dealership where I bought the truck have taken good care of me and the service dept has been good as well. So, even though they aren't the closest dealership to me, I keep going to that one.
But, you can go to any Ford dealership you want. I hope you find one that treats you just as well.
