I had to replace the engine in my F 150. I was told by the dealership the #6 cylinder had low compression and the engine had internal mechanical problems. Warranty won't cover it because they claim gravel was found inside the air intake housing and we're signs of water intrusion in the air cleaner housing. They claim this is why the engine has issues.Would these things cause internal mechanical problems in my engine?
How would that stuff get in there if the air intake was supposedly maintenanced during servicinga couple of months prior to them finding it in there? Would that be my fault or a faulty filter or intake housing?
i have seen a lot of stuff sucked into the intake over the years.
water can get in simply be hitting a puddle just rite.
dirt/gravel can be ingested by driving on a dirt road, or a real dirty road.
