neutral safety switch

i have a 1977 f250 4x4 .how do i adjust the neutral safety switch and where is it located. sometimes it wont start till i take it out of park and put it back hard.
ive heard this can be the neutral safety switch but im lost at where and what to do...any help?

neutral safety switch is on the side of the tranny where the linkage meets the trans. it should be the only wires going to the transmission on that vehicle. adjustment is like the brake light switch. hope this helps

It may be ion the bottom of the column near the firewall. It has slotted holes where it mounts so it can be adjusted.

Thank you, it is on the bottom where the column meets the firewall. to dark out now i will try to adjust it tomorrow. do i just slide it in the slotted mounting holes and tighten?
