They are 6.5" and most aftermarket speakers are pretty good. Go to a store (something like best buy, NOT walmart) and listen to the 6.5" speakers and get whichever ones you like best. My favorites are JBL, Infinity and Pioneer. If you are running them with the factory stereo, look at the specs and get some with a high sensitivity and relatively low power handling. www.crutchfield.com is a good place to learn what the specs mean and also compare all the speakers they carry without going anywhere.
on my 91 150 i only have the two door speakers, with a custom deck. i would like to install rear speakers. has any one done this before? i would assume i would have to cut out the plastic, and there is probably some indentation on the metal where you would put a speaker after you cut it out. also go with the best speakers you can afford. ive made custom door boxes for vehicles before, if you have any skill and take your time it looks great. that way you can use bigger speakers. thanks
