I have a 04 f350 extra cab with a 6.0 diesel that will buck and run rough for short periods of time. Generally less than 1 min. It also will stall with no warning. This stalling can happen either when idling or running down the road. This problem started at about 1,000 miles and has continued to present. The scary part is that when running down the road and the engine quits there is no breaking or steering available. There seems to be no defining event that will cause these problems to occur.
There is currently 41,000 miles on the truck. It has been to the dealers a number of times, had an in-flight recorder installed to try and locate the problem. To date no repair has worked. I would like to know if there are others that have this problem and what was done to correct it.
Do some reading and post in the 6.0 forum. You will find an answer soon, also try to provide as much info as you can on the build date of the engine (located on the drivers side of the valve cover) and other repairs that might have been related to this issue.
Hope to get you up and running as soon as posible. EBP sensors are causing erratic signals to the computer, but more info on what has been done to your truck is needed.
Happy reading and welcome, just remember most people come to FTE for tuning or problems with a 6.0 when the dealer can not fix the problem. Many trucks are operating fine.....
