I have a 2004 6.0 with 38,000 miles.Until recenyly it's been problem free.About 2months ago it became slow to start( runs great after starting). At about the same time, the engine would stall at idle.Until today ,it stalled while driving.Fortunately ,I was on a very straight section of road, and was able to pop it in neutral and restart it!In the past 2 months it's stalled a total of 3 times. Any info would be greatly appreciated.Dan
do you know if you have a early or late build 04? look at the right vavle cover near the glow plug module and see if you have a sensor screwed in through the valve cover or not. if it is a early build, then it might be an icp sesor developing a oil leak.havent had to many late builds that shut off and can be restarted.
We just had our 04 with a loss of power/ coughing/ burp - in the shop. They replaced BOTH engine wiring harnesses and egr valve. Had wire chafing and plugged egr tube and valve siezed up.

The build date is Sept. 22 2003.And it has a sensor on the R.H. valve cover, directly above, what i assume is the glow plug module, and below the alternator.Again, any input is greatly appreciated.Dan
Just a suggestion but are you sure your fuel filters are okay?
The fuel filters were recently changed.Infact ,it was the 2nd filter change.I have been trying to recall... if this problem coincided with my most recent filter change.
