I was wondering what you guys think of the headlamps on these superduties. I was looking to upgrade to an after market bulb to help get some more light. I feel the stock bulbs are really weak. what changes have you guys made in this department and what are your recomendations. thank you in advance
I know this is not exactly what you are looking for but I have a set of "Really Bright" driving lights. (2) 9" Lightforce 240 blitz. 1,500,000 candlepower. Its amazing how far down the road you can see. You know they are bright when you can light up the road and trees in the middle of the day. They only come on when I use the hight beams.
As for the original headlamps, they seem somewhat dull. Not to impressed with the light output.
Ther are several aftermarket companies which make various products to improve light effectiveness. Almost all of them reccomend the Sylvania Silver Star bulbs. They are DOT approved and they DO NOT draw more current than the OEM bulbs.
There are also user mods which can be done to keep the Low beams on when you switch to High beam, thus giving you a broader pattern of projected light.
So far I have only installed the SilverStars (which you can buy at Walmart if you want) and have not down any of the other mods, but that is just a matter of time.....
