2004 250 Lariat 6.0L 5spd Auto. When I turn the heater/defrost on in the truck after running for an hour or so I get a lot of moisture out of it, fogging the windows for a few moments. Does it run through an air dryer or the AC? I do get a subtle thump sound every minute or two coming from behind the glove box when the heater is running. You have to listen hard to hear it or let the truck idle. Any ideas, is this normal?
Mine does the same thing, occassionally. I know that in my Chevy when the defrost was on the AC was also on. I was under the impression that it was the same with this truck.

The initial flow of air is heated and not dehumidified with the A/C. So the air is heated and humid. It hits the colder glass of the windshield and you get condensation. Sort of like a cold beer in a bottle on a warm day. After a few minutes of the dehumidified mixed A/C air, the condensation evaporates.
