If I have to shave with a disposable razor I like the 3 blade and shave in the shower. your face is hot from soaking and the razor glides over my face easily. For daily use I have an norelco electric and it works fine.
Electric (Norelco) all the way, every other day, with a pass of a manual (dry) at the bottom of my neck. The manual tends to make and cut the bumps on my face.
I hate the look of tiney bits of toilet paper all over my face.
I just use the twin blade disposables. I don't like alot of mess so I don't use shaving cream or soap and very rarely use water. It's a rather unrefined approach to shaving, but it works for me. I do have a fancy water proof electric razor but I was disappointed with it the few times I used it so it just sits in the cabinet.
I bought the new battery powered Gillette 3 bladed gimmick the other day. Hated it, went back to my standard Mach 3. I have an electric razor Norelco that never gets the job done.
haha i don't think i've ever heard of the term 'manual razor' before.
i just use the regular two blade gillete ones for my head and face.
Funny thing is, i can shave my head probably once a day no problem, but can only shave my face at most once every 3-4 days or else it will burn like fire, no matter what i use. but then i need to use a new blade for my head every 3-4 times or it'll get irritated or cut up, but at the same time, i can use the dullest blade i have and get a great shave on my face (i have pretty tough hair) as long as i wait 3-4 days to shave.
so i have a system set up, use one blade on my head for 4 times, then use it on my face, so i use two different blades when i shave. haha man, and i thought girls were complicated when gettin ready
I used Sensors and sensor excel for a long time, liked the excels a lot but they are too expensive. When I was in service industry and shaving every day the excels would last about 10 shaves.
Now I use the Gillette custom plus - blue handle, green rubber grip. I shave about every 3 or 4 days and get about 4 or 5 shaves withthem.
Oh yeah, I shave with a little mirror in the shower. no mess to clean up and easy to wash the shave foam out of the ears. and I shave first thing in the shower so if anything bleeds it's usually done bleeding by the time I'm done showering.
The trick to not getting ingrown or infected hair follicles is to not shave against the grain. Shaving against the grain cuts the hair too short and makes it grow under the skin.
I've used the Mach3 since it came out and didn't think it could be improved upon. I now have the vibrating M3 and love it. I have my old Mach 3 in the shower where I use no shave creme at all..only hot water. The M3 buzzer is in my "office" and I use any old cheap shave cream. The M3 and my light beard .. I can nearly shave using only the vibrations and nothing when the blade is new...just go nice and slow and let the vibrations work. With cream it doesn't even feel like I'm shaving. I can't use electric razors..now, they are the thing that pinch, pull and rip those lil hars out... and leave me with a razor burn.
