odometer blank

The trip/odometer on my 99 Expy is sometimes blank. When it does come back on it has correctly recorded the mileage. Anybody know what is going on ?

I hear there is a bad/cold solder joint on the backside of it.
Mine goes out once in awhile. Good enough for me!

It's not that hard to fix and it really saves on your sanity if you are trying to keep track of your mileage.
