I've got my truck all pulled apart. I started on my frame extensions but my back went out and I can't stand up right now so I'm laying down and playing on the computer. I ate a handful of pain killers and washed them down with some whiskey and beer. If I can walk again before the night is over I'll finish up the driver's side. If not . . . uh oh!

Painkillers + alcohol = Sleepy time, NOT work time. =)

That's what I was referring to, your back going out putting you up on the 'puter all night.

Ivan, get off the damn couch! Freaking early-mid twenties and he's already complaining about his back. You don't see ME complaining about my back. Except when I scrape your inert drunken body off of my floor and throw you onto the couch so you don't drown on your own vomit.

Ahhh, good times

I was seriously thinking about doing this to the monster truck. I think that flames coming out of 5 inch stacks 10.5 feet off the ground would be KICK AZZ! A diesel nonetheless!!!! Now I just have to decide on the flame size....use 14 lb./hr injectors, 19, or 21's???? Decisions, decisions.

Yeah, I had the same kind of idea. Could you use fuel injectors to sprey fuel into the tail pipes? Would the same relay/capacitor setup be quick and powerful enough to fire the injector? I know nothing of fuel injection and ECU's. Could you easily run just an injector system with an ECU or would it require too many sensors and always give error codes and not work correctly? What about using NO2 injectors and propane?

No, you can't use your existing PCM and a few more injectors. The injector drivers in the PCM don't like switching on and off twice the amperage....very long that is. I was going to use a signal generator and transistor amplifier circuit to run a pair of high-impedance injectors.....probably some GM multecs because they're cheap. Then use the same signal generator to run an aux. ign. module (GM 5 pin) and run a coil pack (2 spark plug leads per) and let the fun begin.

I don't see why N20 nozzles wouldn't work. It's just that the fuel atomization won't be there for an efficient burn. Also propane would work very well (BLUE FLAME TOO!!), but remember, it requires high pressure hose, a regulator, and would be harder to ignite in the exhaust stream unless MASSIVE amounts were introduced to the spark plug. With gasoline, you've got fine droplets, but with propane it's only a vapor when released into the atmosphere at a regulated pressure.

I have been working on flamethrowers for my stacks also, A ford duraspark box wired to coil will make an almost constant spark, I cant decide if I should use propane or gasoline as fuel though.

Well I'll tell ya what I DID find out in my research is that have to be very careful if you want to use propane. Something to do with the flash point . . . I don't exactly understand why but I saw a couple articles regarding this and one of them had pictures of a tail pipe that had been plumbed with propane and exploded. It split the pipe . . . crazy looking. Anyhow unless you're piping the propane in right at the very end of the pipe it's not a good idea . . . unless you like to explode your exhaust.

Now that would scare the natives.

Acutally for the fuel delivery you could use an external ford fuel pump (off a fuel injected truck) from the wreckers, find a small 1-2 gallon tank that can be easily hid and refueled, then run some lines down to the pipe, and use a metal line to place the fuel into the exhaust, with a nozzle on the end to attomize the fuel, then wire the pump to work with a spark plug and coil.

I like how Mustange specifies that it should be a FORD pump. I hope someone hurries up and does this or I'll have to be the guinea pig. When are you gonna get that thing rolling Kev??????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????

I want to see what kind of flame it puts out. FYI there's a company that sells shiznat you can put in with that fuel to color your flames green and red and all kinds of insano stuff.

I remember in chemistry that Lithium burned a cool color.

The REALLY cool thing is Summit ( I think) sells stuff you can add to make your vehicle SMELL like stuff. Bubble gum..flowers..etc. Put some of that in the flamethrower mix.

I'd like to pull into a California E-test station and make my truck smell like roses for them. Tell them its Eco!
