Parts source for camshaft position sensor

The drive gear, or synchronizer as it is sometimes called, for the camshaft position sensor needs to be replaced on my `95 Explorer w/ 4.0 pushrod motor. I can only find the entire assembly, drive gear and sensor, available at about $425 through the stealer and even more at my local Advance Auto Parts store. Has anyone found it cheaper elsewhere or just the drive gear so that I don’t have to waste money on a sensor that is not bad (yet).

Many thanks,

Mark

Thanks, but I already tried them and they don't list the part.

Advance (PartsAmerica.com) does list a cheaper one, but it has a much storter warranty and so I am dubious of the product.

Funny how for some years the 4.0L OHV application has the cam synchronizer and sensor as one integral unit, and for other years they are seperate components.

Anyway, try looking up Napa Part # ECHCSS511 (for around $275).
