If you want to use the factory radio to control DVD functions you need a 2003+ 6 disc. There are products to add preamp inputs to earlier factory radios to make it work, but the DVD system will have to be controlled separately from the radio.
In summary, the bracket you need;

There is quite a bit more info in this thread regarding the OEM DVD install. Regarding the bracket, it is a large chunk of plastic that replaces a smaller chunk of plastic that the original AC controls mount to. A lot of money to pay for a piece of plastic (~ 48" x 36"), but if I had it to do over again, I would still go this route rather than fabricate my own, as I had other headaches to worry about.
