AOD Troubles

I am having some trouble with my 86 2WD Ranger, Does anyone know where I can find an AOD rebuild kit? Any literature on rebuilding AOD transmissions? I thought I seen an artical in MUSTANG MONTHLY or MUSTANG ILLISTRATED, but I looked through several years of issues and cannot find anything. Please feel feel to e-mail me directly at

If it's an A4ld I wouldn't mess. Been told by tranny shops that all they will do is swapouts, no rebuilding of that tranny as it is too complex. Not one of fords better ideas.

If it is a A4LD I have a few things I can email you if you are really going to rebuild it.

AOD Troubles

Hi, I too am having trouble with my 86 A4DL aod trans. And I was told that you could use an 84-85 IF you remove the valve body to swap out the shift linkage or something. Do you know if this is right? And also anything you can tell me about the trans will be appericated. Please email at nailbender001(No Email Addresses In Posts!). And thank you
