I can tell you (for what it is worth) about suing a major auto company. A company I was with sued GM over a dud GMC truck. In true lawyer fashion, we also named the dealer and the firm that added the saddle tanks. When we showed up for trial, GM had 3 lawyers and two engineers and the other two each had a lawyer. My side had me (as the manager responsible for the truck), our VP and our lawyer. I spent almost 4 hours on the stand and was questioned by all 6 lawyers. The end result was we won that day and GM immediately tied up the proceedings with motions and other paper. The end result was that we dropped the action because it was too expensive to pursue and could have went on for years.
