If it functions anything like a Gear Vendors unit, they're awesome.
My father has one in his 408ci powered F350 with 4-speed manual box, and has said the economy has straight away improved, and the drivability is much better.
The best thing seems to be keep it in overdrive when unladen, and switch out of it to get a half-step to the next gear when needed or if you are hauling a load and want to keep the engine in the sweet spot.

Yeah this one I have to shift. Someone said I can shift to OD when I get in 4th without shifting through the 2nd and 3rd.
The reason I ask is with the way your engine is set up, if you are cruising at 2600-3000rpms, I honestly don't think you'll find a big benefit to an overdrive in regards to fuel economy.
I have a Ranger in one of my trucks with 300/6 and T18. The truck has 4.10 gears with stock size tires. The ranger works great, much more pleasant at highway speeds.
Only downside, besides price, is it's noisy and shifts are much slower because of all that rotating mass in front of the trans...
I considered a rear gear swap, but it's seems like any ratio you either give up power or highway rpm. With the Ranger you get both...kinda

no tach yet to tell me since i have the msd.
with 35" tires the gear calculator said 4.56 is the best gear for power/towing/driving.
im gonna be towing my John deere 4x4 tractor you know so i need the low gearing.
they said the torque splitter brings the RPMs at cruising to 1800 or so..thatll help out some with the mileage.
i get 9-12 mpg. im not expecting to get great gas mileage but hopefully 2 more mpgs at least..
plus i think the engine is using more oil with them high rpms now because ive notice how its starting to get lower quicker and i see no leaks.
Engine using oil? That is *supposed* to be a rebuilt engine.
When I get home, lets spend a little time checking everything out. I'll figure TDC with a dial indicator and get the timing perfect.... there is 1-2mpg in having the vac advance hooked up.
Have you looked into swapping a 5spd in with overdrive?
Yes but my engine is internally balanced and the zf5 flywheel is externally balaced so it has to be zeroed out by drilling and no one near me does it...

We can also check to see where the oil is going.
