Need help! I need to replace the O Ring that is on the inside surface of the auto locking hubs of a 1994 Explorer. I can't find the part number anywhere.
Anyone know the part number? Please feel free to email me if you have the answer.
152 o-ring fits a D28 hub. I stretched one of these out and made it fit my D35. I expect the right size is about a 154 give or take one o-ring size.
And auto parts stores don't usually know how to find o-rings by those 3-digit number sizes (always irritates me when I buy o-rings from them). Places like www.parker.com will have tables showing you the dimensions of each o-ring size.
Unfortunately the O Rings literally disintegrated when I removed the hubs. Not even a few shreds remained. I guess they may have been the originals.
My dealer is chasing it through Ford. Might have the part today. I would have thought this piece would be readily available as it looks like a service type item.
All fixed. Bought the kit at the dealer yesterday - Part # 1K106 Just to boost the price, the kit comes with the O rings and new stickers for the outside of the hubs. My 1994 Explorer really needed new 4x4 stickers....definitely made it drive better.
