anybody know where I can find the allen bolts that go through the face of the hub lock? I tried a couple online parts breakdowns but they didn't identify them. Also is there any kind of gasket that goes between the hub lock and the hub face? I know it has o-rings, but having trouble judging from crappy parts blow ups.
I just opened up the boxes with my new manual locking hubs in them. They came with brand new o-rings and I guess the gasket is mated to the back of the flange so not seperate. I found a parts diagram but it only sells this as a "kit". Anybody just know the size of the damn allen bolts so I can go to the hardware store?
Well first thing they're torx head. Next, I'm not surprised no one knows what size they are - it's not something that you replace frequently. I've had mine out and I'm sure it's something you could get from a good hardware store but the only thing I could give you is the length and the diameter. I don't have a thread gauge. If that's good enough, let me know and I'll try to take one out tonight for you.

Sorry torx didn't know. I assumed they would be a common replacement as the manual states to discard and replace any time the hubs come out. If you could in fact get me a length that would be awesome!! Thanks in advance. Also whatever size torx bit is required would be helpful as well. Thanks again.
I have reused mine several times. I take my hubs off atleast once a year, clean the grease out, and clean the mechanism, re grease everything and reinstall. It look's as though there is a gasket between the hub and flange (mine are mostly gone).
Anyway's I reuse my bolts! This weekend, I will make new gasket's. Good ol cereal box cardboard!
PSD...How about your local Ford dealer or the off road 4WD vendors? IMO anything in a hardware or big box store these days isn't going to be the same quality as the OEM...(read hardware, big box store = offshore inferior non-graded and or unsafe hardware).

Dealer won't sell them desperate if the kit. I have an actual hardware store near by called fastenal. All the do is fasteners and are all graded and USA made.

And matter if fact I've used grade 8 stuff from ace and never had an issue, Matter of fact, I have a grade 8 Bolt in my shackle for pulling people out, and its taken some abuse
Why don't you take one out and take it over to Fastenal. They can easily match the bolt, then you can be a hero and come back and inform us all of the size.

I don't have any...so I have none to take there. If I had them all, I wouldn't need to know what size they are....

Sorry, dealer didn't get done w/ my truck today - hopefully they finish it in the morning. Unless one of the others can measure one sooner.
