Tweeter location?

Can anyone give me some good advice on whether I should install my tweeters in the door panels or further up on the door panels directly behind the side mirrors. I have the infinity component speakers and I'm not sure how far apart they should be. Any opinions or advice on where I will get better sound staging will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I think they will be just fine in the factory location....especially if they are pointed up towards your ears. I like the look of a hidden clean install....and with the right power driving your speakers....they will be just fine in the factory location. Now if your entering sound competitions or something like that....talk to a pro.....but if you just are cruising around and want good sound....the factory location is just fine.

Just my opinion.

I agree - factory location. I have Alpine components, with the tweeter pointing up & rearward, and they sound great. JMHO

Check my gallery. I installed them up behind the mirror for a more directional sound

jperea are you happy with the location as far as sound is concerned? I'm worried that if I install the tweeters behind the mirrors they won't sound right being so far away from my mids which are located on the bottom of the door. Thanks!

Kurious....your splitting hairs. Just put them in the factory location....they will sound great, and it looks much cleaner. If you put tweets behind the mirrors....it's doesn't look clean, and it will attract stereo crooks. They will sound just as good in the factory location. No offense jperea.

None taken. It was my personal preference. My X-over has an adjustment depending on the tweeter distance from the midrange. Sounds killer.
