It runs! Sort of...
'97 van engine into '95 F250.
Well, we got it started today! Idles fine, revs fine. Couple issues though, that I need your help with:
1. Smokes like a chimney. Dark out so I can't tell what color but I think gray. Will this go away after driving the engine for a while (God knows how long it sat before I got it) or is there something I should worry about? I mean, it's a smokescreen when I drive it and get on it.
2. Terribly hard to start, even after immediate shutdown. Cranks and cranks until the batteries die or it s-l-o-w-l-y catches and fires. Again, will this wear in and go away or should I check something?
3. Oil is running from the oil cooler, where the front half of the tube meets the "pedestal". Does the cooler come apart here? Is there an o-ring inside there (or, more likely, several) that I can change?
4. I should have thought to ask this earlier, but did I need to swap the CPS reluctor wheels on this engine? Please say no, they are the same. Please.
It really does run nice, though, as long as I can get rid of the smoke and oil!

I think if you were to reseal the injector o-rings you would fix the smoking problem and also the hard starting problem at the same time. It sounds like you are having a HPOP leak into one of the cylinders.
