I will have to set a new one up. What do you recommend for this? I have the DynoSE program and I am admittedly not real experienced with it. I am getting different numbers on hp and torque output with the 2 Erson cams I gave you valve events for. I am guessing that it has something to do with my cylinderhead selection. Maybe it isn't as good of a program....
Kurt, I called Engle and got the valve events for 3 of their cams. Here we go...
Part # 3110H lift @ .050 intake-.509 exhaust-.509 duration @ .050 214/222 112 degree lobe center, Valve events- Int open= -2 / Int close= 36
exh open= 46/ exh close= -4
Part # 3172H lift @.050 .510/.510 Duration @ .050 227/227 110 degree lobe center
Valve events- Int open= -6 intake close= 41
Exh open= 46 Exh close=1
Part # 3174H Lift @ .050 .519/.519 Duration @ .050 232/232 110 degree lobe center
Valve Events- Int open=7 Int close=46
Exh open=47 Exh close=6
Hope that cover everything you need for those if not, tell me what I may have missed.
Kurt, I can't get my DynoSE program to plug in the Engle cam specs that have the -2 intake open and -4 Exhaust closes then the -6intake opens. A negative number seems wierd in the first place....???
I will have to call Engle again. I will try and set up an email address tonite. Kurt, I talked on the phone with a guy at Lazer Cams and he had some real interesting information and advice. How's this one do?
Duration @ .050 225/230 Lift 552/566 Lobe Seperation - 108, with 104 intake centerline Valve Events- Int. Open = 33.5 Int. close = 61.5
Exh. Open = 72 Exh. close = 28
This cam is supposed to pull hard from 1700 to 5500 and have an obvious lope in the idle (900-1000 RPM)
Sorry to resurrect this thread but I figured it would be easier for Kurt. I called Lunati and got the valve events on this cam. It is a flat-tappet hydraulic.
Intake opens-8.5 Exhaust opens-44.5
Intake closes-36.5 Exhaust closes-.5
The cam has .550 lift @.050 and has 225/225 duration, 108 lobe seperation and 104 intake centerline.
Annihilator, look at a company called Deltacams.com I just order a custom grind cam from them today. I called Lazer cams, Camresearchers and Deltacams and they cam up with the best grind and produced the most power. However since I have a dexktop dyno I tweaked the specs some and fround even more power. I will tell you from what i have seen the 110 lode seperation and 106 centerline will give the most power. Good luck!!
Well, I may do that, but I just ordered a cam from Lazer along with their recommended springs, retainers, and locks. I allready have a new set of lifters (Crane's) that I bought when I built my engine and never used and Lazer said to go ahead and use them. Then I ordered a TCI Streetfighter C6 from Summit, along with a TCI Saturday Night Special Torque Converter and Moroso U-Joint girdles. Had to order the Auburn Gear Pro Series limited slip diff. from Jegs though (Summit didn't have it). Now I am really beginning to think that all I am ever really going to have in life is this old Ford pickup!
