Hello,
I have a 2002, F-250 Super Duty. I would like to know how to disengage the "auto-lock" feature. i.e. the doors automatically lock once you start driving.
I have a 03 & according 2 the owners manual you will have 2
1) Turn key to on and press UNLOCK button 3 times
2) Turn key off then press UNLOCK button 3 times
3) Turn key on again and within 5 sec press UNLOCK 2 times and lock 1 time
if done correctly you will get the horn to chirp 2 times for disable or 2 chirps and a honk for enable
All keyless entry remote transmitters must be programmed at the same time.
To program (or reprogram) the keyless entry remote transmitters into the Generic Electronic Module (GEM) , perform the following steps.
Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN five times within 10 seconds , ending in RUN. If the GEM has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and unlock all the doors.
Press any button on a keyless entry remote transmitter, and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed.
If the door locks do not respond for any keyless entry remote transmitter, wait for several seconds and press the button again.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, or wait up to five minutes after step 1, to exit program mode. If a keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed (or reprogrammed), the GEM will lock and unlock all the doors one last time.
I tried that 3 unlocks- on, 3 unlocks off sequence and I get the same single chirp when I go back to on, and nothing after.
Does anyone know if there is a code book for these sequences. I am scared of screwing something up, either disabling something, or worse, frying something by cycling power so frequently.
Oh yeah, btw, Rosa70, I read and tried the method you mentioned, and I get the confirmation lock/unlock, but neither my FOB or my wifes explorer FOB work.
Does anyone know if the remote keyless feature can be disabled, like a jumper removed somewhere, or a relay pulled??
