Hello Everyone,
Have a 1984 B II 2.8L with 133.000 miles.
I pulled the codes,
KOEO- self test code 11
KOEO- continuous menory code 11,
KOER. code 12, 35, 58 74
any suggestion where to start looking to find defective parts.
Could these codes be caused by the TFI module?
One other question Where is the Brake on/off sensor located on this model
After the engine code is flashed press and release the brake & your 74 will go away. Ater this the scanner will flash a signal to floor & release the throttle. Do this & your 12, 35 and 58 goes away
Thanks for the information. Guess I failed to mention I followed the test procedure, pressed the Brake pedal after the engine code, turned the steering wheel, then after the single code goosed the engine. Cleared the codes and performed the test several times. always the same codes were present<O></O>
In that case you need to run the pinpoint tests for those codes. Wish i knew where to find them, maybe KenOO or one of the other guys will have them. One of the problems listed under 58 is "Idle tracking switch circuit failure" that might explain your 12 code?? I would'nt think a bad TFI would cause any of these codes.
What is the problem with it??
I was wondering about the no CM codes also. Sounds like cokoliso has your answer, the idle speed probably is the problem. I took a look at that link, lots of good info there.
Thanks for the info Guys!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>
The engine is idling about 750, according to the Sun Pro aftermarket tach, I know these are not the most accurate tachs.<o:p></o:p> This engine has the Motorcraft 2150a carb.<o:p></o:p>
There is a feedback control located on the back side of the carb, is this the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:stockticker><st1:City><st1:place>ICA</st1:place></st1:City></st1:stockticker>?<o:p></o:p> Also there is a throttle kicker assembly also called throttle stop positioner of the side<o:p> </o:p> <o:p></o:p>
I will look at the site and follow the Base Idle adjustment and the <st1:stockticker><st1:City><st1:place>ICA</st1:place></st1:City></st1:stockticker> testing and cleaning.<o:p> </o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
The symptoms it has are:<o:p></o:p>
It runs great for a while, and then the idle goes bad, <o:p></o:p>
When the idle is bad and you accerarate it feels like its fueled starved or running on 3 cylinders, then the engine picks back up and runs GREAT.<o:p></o:p>
This condition comes and goes at will. <o:p></o:p>
Neither heat or cold seems to influence it<o:p></o:p>
Can happen as many 6 or 7 times in a 6 mile drive to and from work, or it can run great for a week<o:p></o:p>
Thanks for all the help.
I reset the idle per the web site and cleaned the ICA.
Everything is back to normal, will as normal as any Ford can be,
code 11 on all test!
