ur 7.3 had the bottom end pull to stay in od on the hills. especially with the chip.

ur 6.0 does not. even a chipped 6.0 doesnt have the low rpm snot that a chipped 7.3 has. it has to drop out of od to get the power output. besides, the 6.0 climbs right up the EGT's when it is lugging. much more of a screamer than a lugger.
get a chip and exhaust and ull never think about that 7.3 again

I used to run a 2003 7.3 with a turbo back and a 50hp chip. The 7.3 would stay in gear much longer than the 6.0 but realize the 6.0 has 5 speeds and uses them. A Superchips 1704 from Motorhaven set in tow mode should give you much more pulling power than you ever had with the 7.3. Maybe drive another '05 to make sure yours is running strong.

I have owned both trucks. My old one was a 2001 f-350 SRW Super cab with the 7.3L engine. I put a 75/110HP chip in it before I sold it. I bought a new 6.0L DRW Crew last year, and when I first drove it, it was as fast as my old truck in the 75HP setting STOCK. (Both trucks are automatics). This engine is really fast. Something must be wrong with yours. Like others have said, take it back to Ford, and see what they can do.

I've had an '02 and now an '05 and the only negative difference I noticed on the 6.0 was the longer turbo lag. I do notice that the power band is different and it seems you can't lug it down as far as before. That might be what you are seeing now. I have wound mine up and wahhhooooo it took off.

Might be the shift pattern on his 6.0 may be off. If the rpm's are falling off due the trans not shifting that may be the problem instead. For towing in my 7.3 I just kept pegged to the floor, My 88 CC DRW 454, not stock, can tow as good as my 6.0, but I cannot pass a gas station. The 6.0 tows effortlessly and gets better milage.

Ok here we go....Ah what? GM? Yes, but much work done to the engine.
